And Just Like That - 7 Months Old

So it seems as if I've missed quite a few months - 4, 5 and 6!! I kept saying "Oh I'll post tomorrow night" and now my little guy is a little big guy! He's closer to being a year old than he is to when he was born.

Everyone told me the time would fly, but I guess you never really know how fast that is until it hits you!

I'll do some quick high lights and updates to get us all up to speed and then it's pictures galore! Oh and I hope to get at least 2 more posts out- Baptism and musings.

Since I've stopped pumping (insert communal gasp here), I've had less and less time to spend at the computer. Kabir is awake for more of the day and isn't too interested in sitting around. This has put a setback on my baby blogging. But I return and hope to become a little more regular and maybe add more than just family updates. We'll see!

So since Kabir turned 12 weeks, let's see:

  1. He found his thumb! And then decided pacifiers are way more awesome
  2. Kabir started solids! He took to some foods more quickly than others. Broccoli (unless mixed in with something else) is a straight no! But he loves fish. Recently, I made him big boy spaghetti with noodles and he's doing great! He actually prefers his food chunkier.
  3. If you didn't catch that I am making his baby food. So far it's been pretty easy. Jay has every other Friday off and I use those three day weekends to stock pile enough food for 2 weeks. We tried our first squeezy pouch and he seemed to like that too. It's nice to know I have that option when I need it.
  4. And while we like solids for the most part, bottles are a battle every day!
  5. Kabir doesn't sleep swaddled anymore! And he hates sleeping on his back. So I have a tummy sleeper who likes blankets. I'm ok with it :)
  6.  Kabir can sit up. Kinda. He teeters a bit if he gets distracted so we use the Boppy to catch him or mom and dad spot him.
  7. And Kabir's creeping! Not quite crawling but I know we need to start baby proofing the apartment sooner rather than later.
  8. He babbles, and yells, and laughs! Kabir loves to watch other children. Especially in the pool. He loves to swim. We can't walk by our pool without him longingly staring at it and then looking at us like "Guys the pool is the other way" We have gotten out to the pool at least once a week and hope to be able to do it a few more times before the season closes.
  9. He sleeps through the night mostly. Most days Kabir is sleeping from 7:30 pm - 6:45 am. It's lovely!! Then there are those days when he will wake up randomly and have a hard time falling asleep. I think teething has a lot to do with it. If he stays up for more than an hour, in order to prevent my crankiness, I bring him to our bed, put him to sleep, and then Jay transfers him to the crib. But the cuddles are so lovely!
  10. We take trips out almost every day. It seems like every couple of weeks something changes which makes getting out a little harder but we're trucking along.
  11. Kabir has graduated (sniff sniff) from his infant seat and stroller frame. He is now in his fancy big kid car seat and stroller. He looks like a big kid!
  12. We go to the park on the weekends. Kabir loves laying in the tunnels and making noise. The slide isn't too bad. The swings we can handle!
  13. Oh and we love the jumper! There is nothing a little jumping session, or alone time with the mobile, can't fix. We get some decent air too!
  14. Kabir has two favorite books to calm him down: All of Baby Nose to Toes and Moo Baa La La La. Funny story: I've read him those books so many times that I have them memorized, so when my brothers and parents were in town for Kabir's baptism I was reciting it to him and I hear mom and Tony say "Sandra/Akka that's really good! You should write a book!" I immediately confessed in a fit of laughter but it was nice to have someone think I could write something like that!
  15. Kabir was baptized! More in a later post.
  16. We got our first fever out of the way. The fever wasn't the bad part it was the stuffiness and coughing that came after. We pulled out all the big guns to deal with that!
  17. I'm cooking again. Well I was always cooking but mom was a BIG help. Mom, dad and Tony all moved back to LA so I've had to find my rhythm again. But it's back and I love it!
  18. And we planned our first trip to Denver! Jay has a conference there for work and we're tagging along! Wish me luck!
And now pictures!!!
